This book aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of Islamic law, both theoretically and practically in social life. It systematically discusses the foundations of Islamic law, its sources, the methodology of istinbath, and its relevance to social dynamics and contemporary developments.
Islamic law, known as fiqh or sharia law, has a significant influence on the social, economic, and political life of Muslim communities worldwide. As a legal system based on the Qur’an and Hadith, as well as ijtihad (interpretation of Islamic scholars), Islamic law encompasses all aspects of life, from worship and social interactions to regulations governing relations between nations (Sahidin, 2021) . Internationally, Islamic law not only influences the policies of Muslim countries but also contributes to the broader international legal framework.
In this initial chapter, we will examine the basic understanding of Islamic law in an international context, its history and development, and the important role of Islamic law in the current international legal system.
